Laura Baker stands for Labour in Penhill

Hello there, I’m Laura Baker and I’ve lived in Penhill for the past 38 years.  I also work in the area.

I feel very strongly that the Penhill area needs a female representative on Swindon Borough Council.

I hope to tackle issues relevant to Penhill such as:  parking, anti-social behaviour and safe routes to school for children. I would also like to campaign against proposed budget cuts to frontline services like Sure Start, local libraries and services for the elderly.

My aim is to see that Penhill get a fairer representation within the local authority.

Please contact me on laurlil@ntlworld.com.

Best wishes,   Laura Baker

Joe Tray selected to fight St Philips for Labour

Dear Resident, I am proud to have been selected by the Labour Party as candidate for St Philips ward.  I reside in the ward, and have lived in Stratton for 26 years.  My children have gone through the schools here and also live in the ward.   I’ve worked as a Firefighter in Swindon for 35 years so have a deep understanding of local issue.  I’m proud of Stratton and of Swindon, but believe much more can be dont to make the area safe and to build local communities, to stop rat-runs, to protect green space and to provide services for old and young alike.  There are 9 Tory councillors in the area of Stratton Parish.  I hope you’ll help elect me so that I can provide a stron voice in opposition to the ruling Tories and give an alternative to the people of St Philips.   I’ll soon be circulating a questionnaire on what you do an dont like in St Philips, please email me back and I’ll make sure you get all details of my campaign.

My contact details are j.tray@ntlworld.com or 07813 170202.
