Joe Tray comes even closer in St Philips

In the Local Elections Joe Tray came within 51 votes of unseating his Conservative rival Janet Heenan, obtaining 1962 votes and 40.3% of the total vote.

This was an increase of 9.4% in his share of the vote compared to 2008.  Well done to Joe and his campaign team.  After the count Joe said:

“I’m delighted by this result and will work very hard for all voters in St Philips when eventually elected.  There are 9 Tory Councillors in Stratton and with a Tory dominated Council and two Conservative MPs at Westminster it is more important than ever that Labour works hard in St Philips to represent the concerns of local people on traffic, road-repairs, green spaces, amenities, public-safely, transport and the environment”.
