Teresa Page (Chair of the Upper Stratton Labour Party) and Joe Tray (Vice Chair) have distributed a leaflet asking for support in starting a year-long campaign to get Labour re-elected to the Borough Council to represent at least one of the seats in Stratton. They feel that with 6 Tory Councillors in Stratton, 2 Tory [...]

Swindon Labour candidates averaged 31.0% of the vote in the 2010 local election compared to only 24.4% in 2008. Mark Dempsey stunningly captured a seat in Parks ward, and newcomer Rochelle Russell comfortably beat off all challengers, including the BNP to win Gorse Hill for Labour. Overall the Tory share of the vote dropped by [...]

Comments on the doorstep focused on failings in the Tory Council and their complete lack of consultation over the rat run between Cricklade Rd and Hyde Rd. I know that this is an issue that Michael Wills has [...]

“I am pleased that North Swindon’s Labour Party members have selected Victor as their candidate. Swindon needs a Labour MP to protect residents against the Tory Council’s cuts in services and I know that Victor will be a hard-working and tireless campaigner for people in North Swindon. I look forward to working with him in [...]
