5 Ways – 5 Days – Next time!

Well it didn’t happen.  Labour did well in the local elections but we didn’t win control.  These are the 5 Ways in 5 Days that a Labour administration would have changed your town and your Council.

  1. Immediately implemented a ‘Zero Based Budget’ round to eliminate council waste and focus money where it is needed.
  2. Created a ‘Green Industrial Development Board’ to attract Investment and jobs into Swindon and put us at the forefront of the new green economy.
  3. Taken control of expenses out of the hands of politicians and into the hands of an independent panel.
  4. Scrapped half-baked projects, like the Canal, and focused the town’s redevelopment around workable schemes.
  5. Ensured that all new developments included registered ‘open spaces’ to protect green space for the future of our urban areas.
