Well it didn’t happen. Labour did well in the local elections but we didn’t win control. These are the 5 Ways in 5 Days that a Labour administration would have changed your town and your Council.
- Immediately implemented a ‘Zero Based Budget’ round to eliminate council waste and focus money where it is needed.
- Created a ‘Green Industrial Development Board’ to attract Investment and jobs into Swindon and put us at the forefront of the new green economy.
- Taken control of expenses out of the hands of politicians and into the hands of an independent panel.
- Scrapped half-baked projects, like the Canal, and focused the town’s redevelopment around workable schemes.
- Ensured that all new developments included registered ‘open spaces’ to protect green space for the future of our urban areas.
